one week later as promised...

I was hoping I would get a chance to give some updates within the week but with all this sunshine we have been trying to be out and about as much as possible and enjoy our last couple of weeks in beautiful nor cal.
Yesterday Miss Kenley was 8 weeks and as you can imagine she is growing so quickly. Lately, I just close my eyes and hold her so tight, hoping that I will always remember her being this size. The past two weeks she has been smiling more and more and her little personality is really starting to come out. I have been reading to her lots and she LOVES looking at the pictures and really does engage with me! We have been laying her on her back on the bed and when you talk to her she starts kicking, moving her arms like crazy and gets this look on her face like, "ahhh!! I cant wait to talk back!!"
This past week we stared her on a nap schedule... bitter-sweet! Up until the past week she would nap on either Gavin or I and sleep for hours on end during the day, but we started putting her in the bassinet and in true Kenley style, she put herself right to sleep without a single fuss and is doing two 2 hour naps during the day and by the time bedtime rolls around she is just as easy. Trust me, I am appreciative! She is one amazing baby and I am falling more and more in love with her every single day.
And yes... we all know she looks exactly like Gavin! haha She seriously is becoming more beautiful by the day and I dont feel conceited saying that because she really does not look a THING like me. And I really do not understand how something SO adorable came from ME. I honestly sit and stare at her and just think, where in the world did this baby come from??? alright alright... I promise this blog will not be me going on and on about Kenley and how wonderful she is... even though she is :)
And yes, it is true, Kenley is 8 weeks and 1 day and still has yet to wear the same outfit twice. Ridiculous, I know. We consider ourselves extremely BLESSED cause ya know we definitely didn't buy em all!... infact, we have bought  her ONE outfit. haha  I really hope she doesnt get used it... 7 baby showers will do that to you. I have done my best to send pictures of her in her outfits to whomever bought her that particular outfit. (And speaking of pictures, I have somehow misplaced my USB cord for my camera... so until I find it, I cant post any new pictures... hopefully it will turn up soon!) and SERIOUSLY thank you all again for the adorable little outfits. I have had so much fun playing "dress-up." Sometimes I feel slightly overwhelmed with this huge responsibility I have taken on, but being able to pick out a cute little dress in the morning has been such a fun start to the day. Gavin has become her assistant personal stylist and finally accepts that there HAS to be a matching bow or headband :)

So as far as Gavin and I are concerned... we found out some exciting news this week! The "family housing" that we didnt think we would be able to move into offered us a place to live and we jumped right on it! They had an opening for a THREE bedroom place for $300 cheaper per month than the original ONE bedroom place we had originally planned for. crazy right?!? Pretty understandable as to why the waiting list is so long! Yes... we are so so excited. It might not be as nice as the one bedroom but I am so excited to be living in a family housing area with young parents and friends for Kenley and I!  Also, we have decided to take one car down to Riverside and Gavins walk to school AND the baseball field is under 5 minutes... so so perfect. I also think, as much as I always love to have Kenley close, that she should really have her own room. And YEP... now there is a room for our visitors. and o0o0o gosh... of course so excited to decorate :) I said it once and I'll say it again. God is so so good.
And ME??? I am super duper busy trying to finish this Medical Transcription course by the time we leave. It is so tedious and always the very last thing I want to do when I get a free second but the thought of working from home, being with Kenley 24/7 and not having to put her in day-care has been keeping me motivated.
Well! this turned out way longer than I thought it would but I'm so glad I had a chance to give a quick update! With 40 followers in the first two days I figured I should probably put this thing to use! So of course as soon as I can locate my USB cord... I will put up new pics. Love you all so much. xoxo Jess
